UVC irradiance, also known as UVC intensity, is the measure of the amount of UVC energy that is emitted by a UVC sanitizer device per unit area. It is typically measured in units of microwatts per square centimeter (µW/cm²). UVC wattage, on the other hand, is the measure of the total amount of UVC energy that is emitted by the device and is typically measured in watts (W).

When it comes to evaluating the effectiveness of a UVC sanitizer device, UVC irradiance is considered to be the most important factor. This is because UVC irradiance is directly related to the device’s ability to inactivate microorganisms. The higher the UVC irradiance, the more effective the device is at inactivating microorganisms.

The reason UVC wattage is not the most important factor is that, wattage only indicates the amount of energy being used by the device and doesn’t account for how much of that energy is actually being delivered to the target area.

In summary, UVC irradiance is considered the most important factor in UVC sanitizer devices because it directly relates to the device’s ability to inactivate microorganisms. The higher the UVC irradiance, the more effective the device is at eliminating harmful microorganisms.

All AUM Medtech UVC Devices come with measured UVC irradiance at 3,6,9,12,15,20 & 25 feet.
